Vivian Deng is a student at George Washington High School in San Francisco, CA! Reading, spending time outside, and engaging in climate activism efforts are among the many activities she enjoys in her free time. As the founder and chair of GWH, she hopes to forge a meaningful connection between youth worldwide and Haitian and other third-world communities through an international, intersectional framework. She looks forward to working with GWH’s globally-minded team to advance the voices and perspectives of the underserved!
Giovanni Ocon is a senior at Mills High School in Millbrae, California. He wants to study CS or math in college and his main interests are philosophy, playing guitar/music, basketball, and fashion. An interesting fact about him is even though he's naturally left-handed, he does a lot of activities with my right-hand, creating almost ambidexterity, but he naturally feels left-handed. He hopes to bring an intersectional perspective to Green W Haiti and use his Latin American heritage to understand solutions to Global South climate crisis.
Suzanna He is a student at George Washington High School and one of the Vice Chairs at Green With Haiti. A little about herself is that she loves to read, go book shopping, and sketch in her free time. She finds these activities to be very relaxing and quite enjoyable. As vice chair of GWH, her approach is to restore and spread awareness of the conditions of Haiti. She hopes with the team, we can inspire many other students to do the same and help the community strive for the better.
Akshi Biswal is a junior Lebanon Trail High School in Texas. Akshi wants to become a successful computer science person and a person to others with many hobbies such as running, drawing, and swimming. In GWH, she hopes to make people aware of the situation in Haiti and know the value that there are other places that are not in the right place. Also, she wants to spread awareness on Haiti by trying to make posters for people to understand and support them.
Melinda is from Rome, Italy, and attends Pilo Albertelli Classico High School. In her free time, she reads, draws, and does English grammar exercises (she hopes to improve it a little bit more). She’s part of the social media team, and she joined because she wanted to know more about its history, and the problems that are currently in it. She hopes that more people will be interested in helping us.
Sharon He is from San Francisco and goes to George Washington High School. Her passion is art and she loves traveling and listening to music during her free time. Rich is a team member and a subsection member for the Grants team. His work at GWA mainly revolves around grant applications, fundraising, and outreach opportunities.
